Parkland and Woodland Filming Location in Hertfordshire

Parkland and Woodland Filming Locations

At Woodhall Locations, Hertfordshire

Mature parkland, open grassland and woodland, 7000 acres of hireable opportunity

The core parkland at Woodhall Locations covers approximately 400 acres of open and semi-open ground, with established trees, ha-ha boundaries and grassland.

The landscape reads as a managed English country estate, appropriate for period productions and TV from the 18th century onward, as well as contemporary drama, documentary and commercial work requiring open green space within easy reach of London.

Open Parklands

The parklands feature wide expanses of open grassland with specimen oak, cedar and chestnut trees. Sight lines extend sometimes for miles or more in multiple directions.

There is minimal modern intrusion; agricultural buildings and road infrastructure can typically be excluded from the frame or partially concealed with dressing.

Formal Gardens

The Large Country Manor House is complete with formal gardens, with a historic Walled Garden just a stones through away, too.

These areas are well-suited to period drama, fashion shoots, stills photography and commercial work requiring a manicured, structured setting.

Woodlands

The estate includes several hundred acres of mixed woodland, with established paths and natural clearings. This environment is ideal for atmospheric sequences, woodland interiors and scenes requiring cover, such as military or action work. Seasonal canopy changes across spring, summer and autumn provide distinct visual variations within the same locations.

Access and Logistics

Woodhall Locations can comfortably accommodate large unit bases on site, with excellent vehicle access for technical vehicles and support trucks and multiple parking areas for cast, crew and equipment.

The estate is conveniently accessible from London and the M25, and the estate team is available to assist with recce planning and shoot logistics.
